Neck and Shoulder Massage in Amsterdam

Focused work on the pain in your neck and shoulders. I look for the knots behind your stiffness and headaches, and work on them with care. Exclusively for women, on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam city center.

Neck and Shoulder Massage Exclusively for Women

A neck and shoulder massage is a massage focused on one goal: working on the muscles of your upper back, neck and shoulders that hold most of your daily stress, and relieving the pain you feel right now.

Neck and shoulder pain often spreads. Tight muscles on top of your shoulders are a common cause of tension headaches, and a tight neck can send pain or numbness down to your hand.

In my neck and shoulder massage, I always focus on your upper back, shoulder blades and the area under them, your shoulders and your neck. These are the most important areas. If your body responds quickly, I may also have time for your collarbone, arms and hands. If not, we can work on them in your next session. The goal is always to work on the pain you came in with.

How Do I Know If the Neck and Shoulder Massage Is for Me?

This is your massage if:

Your neck feels tired and stiff

Tension gives you headaches

You've felt a heavy weight in your upper back for weeks or months

You've simply had enough

Before you book, know this:

Most women leave happy with their results. But some expect stronger pressure than their body can take. As a therapist, I know harder isn't always better. If your muscles aren't ready, more pressure won't help. I work at the pace your body allows.

Massage alone doesn't always solve the problem. Sometimes your pain needs stretching and gentle neck movement too, to keep the muscles from tightening up again. I'll tell you if that's your case.

I recommend booking 90 minutes. 60 minutes is possible, but the work will be more focused on fewer areas.

This isn't a full-body massage or a relaxing spa experience. It has one purpose: to work on your pain and the weight you've been carrying.

What Are the Benefits of a Neck and Shoulder Massage?

A neck and shoulder massage in Amsterdam isn't just about feeling good for an hour. Research shows real changes in pain, headaches and how your neck moves.

↻

Neck Massage for Chronic Neck Pain

In a study of 228 adults with chronic neck pain, 60-minute massages two or three times a week clearly improved pain and neck movement. 30-minute sessions didn't.

In practice: that's why my sessions start at 60 minutes.

✦

Massage for Tension Headaches

In people with chronic tension headaches, pressing on trigger points in the muscle on top of the shoulders brought on their usual headache in almost half of them.

In practice: working on your shoulders can ease your headache.

↘

Shoulder Massage That Reaches Your Arms

Trigger points in the small muscles on the side of your neck can send pain and numbness to your shoulder, arm and hand.

In practice: relief often goes further than your neck.

∞

Results That Last Longer

In a 6-month trial with working women with chronic headaches, a neck and shoulder exercise program almost halved how often headaches came.

In practice: massage plus stretching at home works best.

I went in with tired, swollen feet after a week of walking around the city and booked a reflexology massage on impulse. She worked every point without ever rushing, and I could feel the tension leaving with each breath. Best part? I slept through the whole night after, which never happens to me. Worth every minute!!

One of the best neck and shoulder massages I ever received! I came in with muscles that felt like cement, and left with my upper body feeling nice and loose like jello :) I really appreciate that she took all her time and skills to work through all my knots, and and really help to relieve the tightness. Thank you so much!

It was my first time at Dracel's studio. The massage brought me relief and was pleasant. She is a very attentive professional who focused on exactly what I needed. She also explained what might have caused my shoulder blade pain and gave me advice on how to prevent further back pain. The studio is also very beautiful and relaxing. I recommend it!

Amazing! I expected just a relaxing massage, but it felt more like a therapeutic treatment. She focused on the areas that really needed attention—my back, shoulders, and jaw. After the session, I felt such a huge difference. My body was so much more relaxed, my shoulders felt lighter, and even my jaw tension improved. I also really appreciated that she's sending me exercises to help improve my posture. Dracel is skilled, caring, and truly wants to help you feel better. Highly recommend!

FAQ

Neck and Shoulder Massage FAQs

−

Why do my neck and shoulders hurt after working on a laptop?

When you look down at a screen, your head moves forward and your neck muscles carry much more weight than they should. Hour after hour, they tighten up. Raising your screen to eye level and taking short breaks to move your neck helps.

+

What are the knots in my neck and shoulders?

They're trigger points: small, tight spots in the muscle that feel hard and tender when pressed. They can also send pain to other areas, like your head or arm. They're what I look for and work on during your session.

+

Can stress cause neck and shoulder pain?

Yes. Under stress, you tend to raise your shoulders, clench your jaw and breathe shallowly, often without noticing. Over time, your neck and shoulder muscles stay tense even when you rest.

+

When should I see a doctor instead of booking a massage?

If your neck pain started after a fall or accident, comes with fever, dizziness or weakness in your arms, or if numbness in your hands doesn't go away, see your doctor first. Massage is for muscle tension, not for these symptoms.

+

Should I use heat or ice for a stiff neck?

For muscle stiffness and tension, heat usually feels better: a warm shower or a heat pack relaxes the muscles. Ice is better in the first days after a sudden injury.

+

What's the best sleeping position for neck pain?

On your back or your side, with a pillow that keeps your neck in line with your spine. Sleeping on your stomach twists your neck for hours and often makes pain worse.

+

How should I prepare for my neck and shoulder massage?

Avoid a heavy meal right before, drink water, and leave necklaces at home. The oil may touch your hair, so if you have long hair, bring a hair tie.

+

What should I do after my neck massage?

Drink water, keep moving gently, and avoid heavy upper-body training that day. Your muscles need a few hours to settle.

+

What self-massage can I do at my desk for neck and shoulder tension?

Press your fingers into the top of your opposite shoulder, find a tender spot and hold gentle pressure for 30 seconds while you breathe slowly. Then slowly tilt your ear toward your other shoulder. A few minutes a day helps keep the tension from building up.

+

When and how do I pay for my neck and shoulder massage?

Payment is always made before your session. From the Netherlands, you can pay by Tikkie or bank transfer; from abroad, by bank transfer only. I send you the details on WhatsApp when I confirm your booking. If you cancel 24 hours or more before your session, I refund your payment. With less than 24 hours' notice, even by a few minutes, I can't refund it, for any reason, because your room is already reserved for you. If you arrive late, I always try to add the lost minutes at no extra cost. If I have another client right after you, the late minutes come off your session time.
